Carhartt WIP store Johor Bahru Opening

Carhartt WIP is pleased to announce the grand opening of its third store in Malaysia, at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey Johor Bahru.

The new Carhartt WIP store, located on the ground floor of the mall Southkey Johor Bahru, spans an impressive 1,819 square feet. Designed by Salomée Faeh and the Milan-based architecture studio of Andrea Caputo, the store draws inspiration from the brand's rugged, workwear origins while incorporating a clean, modern industrial aesthetic. Defined by sleek lines and an open layout, the space combines a contemporary design approach with distinct industrial detailing, in a manner that reflects Carhartt WIP’s unique DNA.

Featuring shades of gray, white, muted concrete hues, along with a unique branded carpet by AC Studio, the design of the space creates a harmonious atmosphere. Display fixtures reflect Carhartt WIP's practical aesthetics, including a handmade "Carhartt" logo designed exclusively by studio of German artist Pietro Sanguinetti.

To commemorate the store opening, an opening capsule will be launched comprising the iconic Detroit Jacket and two S/S T-shirts drawing inspiration from the local heritage of very unique Wau Johor.

Local artist Jun Ong, renowned for his lighting art, will present a special installation titled "Merak-07" at the opening, to reinterpret the cultural language of the traditional Johorean Wau with new materialization and the interplay between light and textures that transcends time.
